This privacy policy explains how the120.ist (operated by Nick Davis, sole trader, based in the United Kingdom) and the120ist shop (operated by Pro-Viz) collect, use, and protect your personal data.
1. Who we are
the120.ist is a film photography content website run by Nick Davis. The shop section of the site is operated by Pro-Viz, a sole trader business also run by Nick Davis. For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@the120.ist.
2. What data we collect
We collect different data depending on how you use the site.
2.1 When you browse the site
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. With your consent, Google Analytics sets cookies that collect anonymous information about your visit, including pages viewed, time spent, approximate location (country and region only), device type, and browser type. We do not collect your IP address in a form that can identify you. If you decline analytics cookies, no tracking takes place.
2.2 When you buy something from the shop
When you place an order through the shop, we collect your name, email address, billing address, and shipping address. This information is collected by Stripe (our payment processor) and passed to Printful (our fulfillment partner) so that your order can be produced and shipped. We do not store your payment card details. Stripe handles all card data and we never see it.
3. Why we use your data
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To fulfill your order and arrange delivery (legitimate interest, and contractual necessity)
- To send you a receipt and shipping confirmation by email (contractual necessity)
- To respond to support enquiries you send us (legitimate interest)
- To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it (consent, via Google Analytics)
- To comply with our legal obligations, such as keeping financial records (legal obligation)
4. Who we share your data with
We share your data with the following third parties, only as needed to provide the service:
- Stripe processes payments. Their privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
- Printful produces and ships your orders. Their privacy policy is at printful.com/policies/privacy.
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) provides anonymous traffic analytics, only with your consent.
- Netlify hosts the website. Server logs may briefly contain IP addresses for security purposes.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or marketing networks.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep order records for 6 years as required by UK tax law. After that, your order data is anonymised or deleted. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for 14 months and then deleted.
6. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data (subject to our legal obligations to keep certain records)
- Withdraw consent for analytics tracking at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk

7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies needed for the site to function (such as remembering your cart contents) are always active. Analytics cookies only run with your consent, which you give via the cookie banner that appears on your first visit. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser data, which will re-trigger the banner.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Significant changes will be communicated by a notice on the site.
